Terms and Conditions
The City of Oshawa invites you to share your community photos. Select photos will appear in the online photo galleries on the City of Oshawa website and/or webpages. Photographs may also be featured on other City promotional material.
Selection of Photographs Used
The City will determine which photograph(s) submitted will appear in the online photo gallery and/or City of Oshawa webpages. Photographs may also be featured on other City promotional material (e.g. brochures, posters, advertisements). When possible, the City will make every effort to include the photo credit (photographer's name) on City of Oshawa produced media (e.g. City website, brochures, posters).
Submission Criteria:
- Photographs must have been taken in the City of Oshawa
- Photographs are not to contain people who can be identified
- All components must be created by the photographer submitting the photograph (cannot use anything off the internet, stock, copyrighted material, other people's work, etc.)
- Digital photographs only, submitted online through the City's online submission form only
- File type/size: jpeg format no larger than 5 MB
- File identification format: Photographer'sName _Title.jpg = JohnDoe_PeonyGarden.jpg.
Submission Agreement:
Thank you in advance for sharing your photograph(s) with the City of Oshawa. By submitting your photograph(s) you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions, and will be deemed to have received, understood and accepted these terms and conditions:
- Copyright will remain with the photographer, but the City of Oshawa will be permitted to use all entered photographs without payment of fees in publicity, promotion or advertisement in City of Oshawa media.
- By uploading photographs to the City of Oshawa photo gallery, the photographer grants the City of Oshawa the irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use, edit, alter, publish and transmit the submitted photographs and photographer's name and image caption in any type of media, including but not limited to websites, publications, advertisements, marketing and promotional materials as well as print and electronic media. The City will not be required to pay any royalty, license fee, cost or any other fee for the use of any submitted photograph and/or information provided by the photographer.
- The City of Oshawa shall not be responsible for any subsequent unauthorized use of the photographs and/or any image(s) contained in the photographs submitted by the photographer by parties not associated with the City of Oshawa.
- The City of Oshawa is not responsible for including photo credits with the use of the photograph(s). However, when possible, the City will make every effort to include photo credits on City of Oshawa produced media (e.g. City website, brochures, posters).
- Photographs must be taken by the individual submitting the photographs. In submitting a photo, the photographer guarantees that the photograph(s) submitted is an original work, is taken by himself/herself and does not infringe on any copyrights or privacy of any individuals or third parties.
